Powerball Number Analysis

The Powerball Lottery

The first ever Powerball lottery draw was in April 1992, with a starting jackpot of just US $2 million. Since then, the US Powerball lottery game has become the most talked about lottery on the planet, with millions of Americans participating in every draw. But why?

The simple answer is the size of the jackpots. Unlike any other game in the world, the notorious Powerball lottery has the ability to award winners with the largest jackpots ever seen. Seemingly minor changes to the rules were introduced in October 2015 that lengthened the odds of winning the jackpot.

Lottery history was rewritten in January 2016 when the world experienced what lottery insiders now call the Powerball tsunami. The accumulation of 19 rollover draws saw the Powerball jackpot grow to an eye-watering US $1.5 billion. The media went into overdrive and it’s not hard to see why, when just two weeks before the billion-dollar draw, the jackpot was just US $400 million. The US $1.5 billion jackpot was eventually split among three winners.

Every one of the Top Ten lottery draws in the US has occurred since that change in 2015. And two of the Top 5 draws took place in 2022, including the $2.04 billion Powerball draw on November 7, 2022. That winning ticket was sold to someone in California, becoming the largest jackpot for a single ticket and the largest cash value for a single ticket. (And the holder of that winning ticket has yet to claim their prize.)

It's now estimated that there will be a Powerball jackpot in excess of US $1 billion every 18 months.

Play Powerball from Canada

Canadian residents can play the Powerball lottery via our website. Powerball.ca was created for would-be Canadian players of the famous Powerball lottery.

The idea for Powerball.ca was formed during the January 2016 Powerball draw, which saw thousands of Canadians crossing the border into the US to buy tickets for the billion-dollar draw – most of them waiting in line for hours. Little did they know, there are places online to buy Powerball tickets. With a little help, we’ll show you how using an online lottery service lets Canadians participate in the Powerball lottery from the comfort of their own home.

Even more attractive than the ease of playing the US lottery while in Canada—lottery wins in Canada are not subject to Canadian tax. That's right: if you play, and win, the US lottery from Canada, the entirety of your winnings goes straight into your pocket. Players who win will have to pay American taxes, depending on the state where the ticket was purchased. But there will be no Canadian taxes on top of the American ones.

Lottery services are quietly revolutionising the way we play lotteries. Until now, lottery players have never been able to participate in lotteries in countries where they don’t reside. Let Powerball.ca be your guide to this new and exciting way to play the millionaire-making Powerball lottery online.
